Office for Kosovo and Metohija: The house of the returning Jozic family near Istok was set on fire
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that the previous night the house of the returnee family Jozic in the village of Veric, near Istok, was set on fire, and pointed out that such incidents were a frequent occurrence, which, they say, indicates the lack of will of Pristina to prevent such events and provide conditions for coexistence in Kosovo and Metohija.
They warn that "the Serbian people in Kosovo are facing the fact that the extremists are trying to make it difficult and prevent the return of the displaced".
"The night before, the house of the returnee family Jozic was set on fire in the village of Veric, near Istok, where attacks like this are, unfortunately, a frequent occurrence, which confirms the inability, but above all the lack of desire and goodwill of Pristina to prevent such events and create conditions for coexistence in Kosovo and Metohija. Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are faced with clearly organized efforts by extremists to make the return of the displaced as difficult as possible or to prevent it, and such practice is most prevalent in Metohija, from where the Serbian people were forced to emigrate the most," the announcement states.
The international community, as the responsible party in Kosovo, is obliged, as the Office for Kosovo and Metohija says, to finally make more serious efforts to curb the campaign to prevent the displaced from returning to their homes.
"Silence and the absence of a decisive reaction means coming to terms with the consequences of tragic ethnic cleansing and supporting chauvinist political concepts that have no place in modern times and on the soil of modern Europe," said the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
