Pantovic: Family members of the accused in the "Brezovica" case released, bail not paid, money confiscated

Lawyer Ljubomir Pantovic told Kosovo Online that the family members of several defendants in the "Brezovica" case had been released half an hour before the end of the bail payment deadline after being questioned at the police station in Pec and that for this reason, they had failed to make the payment.

The deadline for payment was 4 p.m. today after the Court in Pe accepted the lawyer's request that the seven defendants in the "Brezovica" case be released on bail.

Pantovic pointed out that he had asked the judge to extend the bail deadline because, as he stated, the members of the defendants' families had been physically prevented from paying the bail within the deadline.

"We will see what the judge's decision will be. This is a scandal that I have not experienced in my career. They were released around 3:30 p.m., only half an hour before the deadline. They could not make the payment during that period," Pantovic said.

As he added, he had received information from a family member of the accused whom he represented that the money they set aside to pay the bail had not been returned and that they had only received a confirmation that the money had been confiscated.

As previously confirmed for Kosovo Online by lawyers Tome Gashi and Ljubomir Pantovic, the Kosovo Police had detained family members of several defendants in the "Brezovica" case who, after the court decision to release the defendants on bail, had been waiting to pay the money.
