The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, says that the fact that the prosecutor's office in Urosevac qualified the attempted murder of Serbian children in Gotovusa as "causing general danger with the use of weapons" is worrying.

Petkovic stated on Twitter that for such a qualification of the act, in practice, a prison sentence was not imposed, but a suspended sentence with a fine.

"The so-called prosecutor from Urosevac qualified the attempt to murder Serbian children in Gotovusa on Christmas Day as "causing a general danger with the use of weapons." It is as if Azem Kurtaj, a member of the so-called KSF, shot into the air and did not seriously injure Stefan and Milos. It is worrying that for this qualification of the act, in practice, an effective prison sentence is not imposed, but a suspended sentence with a fine," Petkovic says.

He adds that the lawyer has already submitted a request to reclassify the crime as aggravated attempted murder and that he will inform the international representatives about everything.

"Pistina's intention to save the KSF member from prison is obvious, despite the fact that this man shot Serbian children while they were carrying a Christmas tree with the intention of killing them. That is why the lawyer hired by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija filed a request to reclassify the crime as an attempt at serious murder, and the epilogue will be known at the new hearing scheduled for March 16. We will also inform international representatives about the entire case," Petkovic stated.
