Rexhaj: The EU opposes the condition of reciprocity for the CSM formation presented by Kurti
Self-Determination MP Arber Rexhaj says that one of Albin Kurti's conditions for the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, which the European Union opposes, is reciprocity, that is, that if the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is formed, the Albanians in the "Presevo Valley" should have equal rights, Reporteri reports.
"The Self-Determination Movement decided that the issue of reciprocity should be in the dialogue. If there can be a Community without executive powers, the same should be true for the Albanians living in the Presevo Valley. Four percent of the Serbian population living in Kosovo today leads ten municipalities in Kosovo and has ten deputies. There are twice as many Albanians in the Valley, and they have no rights in Serbia," Rexhaj said for TV Dukagjini.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti presented six conditions for the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities formation at the session on February 2 in the Assembly, and the third states "that the rights of national minorities and relevant protection mechanisms should strengthen the principle of reciprocity between the two states."
The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, said yesterday that the European Union had objections to two of the six conditions that Prime Minister Albin Kurti put forward for the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities formation, but he did not say which conditions these comments referred to.
