Rizvanolli: We will demand compensation from Serbia if it continues to block the energy agreement

The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, stated that the Kosovo side had done everything that had been agreed upon in the energy agreement, but that the Serbian side had not fulfilled its obligations, and that was why Kosovo would seek compensation.

"It is an inherited agreement from 2013, and the conclusions from 2015 are also part of this agreement. In June last year, we signed instructions for its implementation. The government and all our institutions, such as KOSTT, the Energy Regulatory Office and the distribution company which is the only one that has a license for the entire territory of Kosovo, fulfilled all the obligations we had under this agreement," said Rizvanolli for Klan Kosova.

According to her, the company "Elektrosever" and Serbia did not fulfill their part of the obligations.

"A few weeks ago, KEDS sent to 'Elektrosever' a debt agreement due to some distribution services, as stipulated in the agreement, with a deadline of March 31 for signing. Unfortunately, it has not yet been signed, but it was one of the topics of discussion yesterday in Brussels", Rizvanolli said.

She expressed the hope that the Serbian side would respect the agreement, because otherwise the Energy Regulatory Office will be forced to revoke the license of "Elektrosever", because, as she says, "the situation is now intolerable".

"We will ask for compensation from Serbia, because it is the one that is blocking the implementation of this agreement," Rizvanolli concluded.
