The ruling group of MPs in the Assembly of Kosovo currently has only 61 MPs left (120 MPs in total) for the adoption of the bill, out of a total of 66 at the beginning.

The departure of MPs Haki Abazi and Fatmir Humoli, MP Drita Milaku's non-participation in the vote for several months, as well as the maternity leave of MPs Saranda Bogujevci and Tinka Kurti, reduced the majority in the number of MPs, reports Gazeta Express.

The head of the Self-Determination parliamentary group, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, says that there are challenges within the parliamentary group, and she also criticized the opposition for refusing to fulfill its constitutional obligation to participate in the vote.

"Two MPs are on maternity leave, they are MP Saranda Bogujevci and MP Tinka Kurti. Now our parliamentary group has 61 active MPs who participate in voting and support the government in legislative initiatives, even those with a simple majority. In a situation where a representative of Self-Determination is late or has some obligation or is on a trip, decision-making becomes impossible, because the opposition refuses to perform its constitutional and mandatory duty, to participate in the vote," says Kusari-Lila.

The head of the parliamentary group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Besnik Tahiri, tells Kosovo Press that the opposition has no obligation to form a quorum for the ruling majority.
