The Serb List: Kurti treats the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija as hostages in the negotiation process
The Serb List announced today that the latest arrests of the Serbs in the north of Kosovo were a continuation of the violence carried out by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who treated Kosovo Serbs as hostages in the negotiation process.
"Today, in the area of northern Kosovska Mitrovica and Zvecan, Kurti's regime fraudulently arrested two Serbs, I.E. and D.M., and two more are still being sought according to the Albanian media. We remind you that these arrests of our fellow citizens, as well as the beating of young men in Gracanica, come after Kurti's refusal to actively participate in the dialogue and de-escalate the situation on the ground," the announcement states.
The Serb List assessed that it was obvious that Kurti was continuing with his plan to resolve open political issues with violence and force.
"He is treating the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija as hostages in the negotiation process, whom he can harass whenever he wants, and thus sends a message to the European Union that they cannot do anything to him. We appeal to KFOR and EULEX to urgently prevent the incursions of Special Forces and other provocations by Kurti's regime which endangers peace and causes tensions," the Serb List said.
