Starovic: Pristina's attacks on Serbs send a message that there is no place for solidarity and peace
Nemanja Starovic, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, stated that the shooting near the elementary school in Ugljare was the 331st attack on Serbs in Kosovo and that Pristina is sending a clear message that there is no room for solidarity and coexistence, Pink reports.
Starovic emphasizes that attacks on the Serbian people have become more frequent since Prime Minister Albin Kurti came to power.
"The messages coming from Kurti and his associates are such that there is no talk of peace, reconciliation, tolerance, or coexistence. They say that Serbs are a disruptive factor, that they are criminals, and they inspire people prone to extremist behavior to be violent, whether it's attacks on children, shooting at children, and so on," Starovic said.
According to him, the root of the problem lies in the politics and the stance imposed by the top leadership in Pristina, and the attacks are a consequence of their position.
"On the one hand, there is enthusiasm that a final agreement will be reached, but on the other hand, the situation on the ground is deteriorating day by day. From 2004 until today, it has never been worse," Starovic said.
Demo Berisha, the President of the Albanian Community in Serbia "Matica Albanaca", says that the situation is such that Kurti and his team have no idea how to implement anything that has been agreed upon.
"The idea is for him to have this kind of behavior until the end of his mandate. He would love to see his idea of an ethnically pure Kosovo realized in his lifetime. It is evident that Kurti does not want to establish the CSM because he has now resorted to a new theory. He told Lajcak and others how everything should be implemented, but on the other hand, we have statements from the President of the Assembly saying that nothing should be done," Berisha recalls.
He states that the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, is "one of the instigators" who pushes Kurti to act as he currently does.
"No matter what Lajcak discusses with Kurti, the next day the Quint ambassadors are with him, and he receives new instructions," Berisha said.
