The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Svecla, called on Belgrade "to abandon attempts at escalation in Kosovo" and urged the international community to react to Serbia's actions, Koha reports.

"We call on Belgrade to withdraw from these criminal, and now terrorist, acts and to cease attempts and desires for escalation in our country. We urge the international community to strongly react to these events and condemn Serbia's violent and terrorist behavior towards Kosovo. We call on citizens to seek information from official channels and not fall for disinformation," Svecla said at an emergency press conference at the Belvedere base in South Mitrovica.

Svecla stated that he will seek to have the organization "North Brigade" declared a terrorist group.

"In the coming days, I will request that the government declare the organizations, Civil Protection and North Brigade, as terrorist organizations, in order to make the fight against them more effective," Svecla said.

Svecla added that among the items confiscated from cars with Serbian license plates in Zvecan yesterday were radio stations.

"There are radio communications identical to those confiscated from Aleksandar Filipovic's illegal office in Leposavic. Aleksandar Filipovic was the former head of operations in the northern regional directorate of the Kosovo Police and was decorated by Vucic. These radio stations are the same as the one found in his office, which is equipment used by terrorist and criminal formations. These tools were intended for terrorist attacks against citizens and institutions of Kosovo. This is evidence that Vucic, through such organizations, is attempting to destabilize our country," Svecla added.

Svecla emphasized that the "quantity of smuggled weapons in Kosovo is greater than what has been confiscated thus far."

"It is clear who is behind the terrorist attacks and attempts within our country. These pieces of evidence were found in a vehicle belonging to Serbian institutions, the radio communications of Serbian officials in Kosovo, the symbols of Russia and terrorist organizations. The picture is clear. The hand grenades are of Serbian production from 2021, so they are not leftover weapons from the war but are directly supplied by the Serbian Army. The level of violence and crime from Serbia is already increasing, criminal gangs have already turned into terrorist organizations," Svecla stated.

Svecla stated that Kosovo is "facing aggression from Belgrade."

"Since the post-war period, Kosovo has continued to face aggression from Belgrade. Especially recently, their extended hand has begun terrorism against the Kosovo Police, KFOR members, EULEX, and journalists. We witness that the situation has reached its peak when three police officers were kidnapped," Svecla concluded.
