The Ambassador of the European Union in Kosovo Tomas Szunyog visited North Mirovica today, where he spoke with representatives of the Clinical Hospital Center and the "Sveti Sava" school about the challenges they face after the decision of the Central Bank of Kosovo prohibiting the use of dinars, which, as pointed out - it was not communicated in advance to those it affects. The EU ambassador also met with representatives of the MTS company.

"This decision, along with other long-term issues, seriously affected the population of Kosovo Serbs and other communities throughout Kosovo and hindered the provision of basic services. Such issues should be urgently resolved within the framework of dialogue, in the interest of citizens," Szunyog emphasized on the "X" social network.

He also visited the Valac substation, which provides electricity for citizens in the north of Kosovo, the headquarters of Elektrosever.

"I visited the Valac substation and the headquarters of Elektrosever, which initiated the charging of electricity consumption in the north of Kosovo. It is an important step forward in the normalization process. I appeal to citizens to register their accounts and start paying their bills," said the EU ambassador.

Szunyog also met with representatives of MTS, in order to learn about the company's challenges and future plans.

"I also sat down with the representatives of MTS d.o.o. to discuss the current operational challenges and future development plans. It is good to meet the representatives of the company that provides telecommunications services to tens of thousands of people as a result of the Dialogue led by the EU," said Szunyog.

At the end of his visit to North Mitrovica, the ambassador opened an exhibition of watercolors by Aleksandra Zdravkovic.

"Concluding my visit to North Mitrovica, I opened the exhibition 'Nostalgia' in our House of Europe - a collection of 15 expressive watercolor drawings by Aleksandra Zdravkovic that depict the fascinating architectural history of North Mitrovica and Zvecan municipalities," Szunyog said.
