Former mayor of Leposavic, Zoran Todic, along with a group of gathered Serbs who approached the entrance of the municipality building in protest this morning when Minister of Local Government Elbert Krasniqi entered, held a conversation around 11 o'clock with the commander of the Hungarian KFOR. With the agreement for the Serbs to withdraw about ten meters to a protective fence, Todic requested that KFOR not allow anyone else to enter the municipality building.

Representatives of the protesting Serbs from Leposavic, who have been protesting for almost 20 days due to the violent police occupation and blockade of the municipality building, approached the entrance of the building this morning, outraged by the new provocation by Pristina and the arrival of Minister Elbert Krasniqi. They were also upset for finding out that the deputy mayor, Dragana Miletic, and illegitimate municipal councilors were planned to enter the municipality building today, with an apparent intention to make decisions that were not supported by the residents of the municipality.

At one point, the atmosphere became tense, and the Serbs chanted "Out, out." They were stopped at the entrance to the municipality building by KFOR soldiers, with a larger group of Kosovo Police special forces present behind them.

According to reports from Kosovo Online's reporter, in an effort to calm the situation, former mayor Zoran Todic spoke with the Hungarian KFOR commander, requesting that the councilors not be allowed to enter the municipality building.

Todic also mentioned the presence of a large number of police officers at the police station in Leposavic and that he has information that they are ready to move toward the municipality.

He appealed to the KFOR representatives to maintain order and peace and to no longer allow ministers or councilors to enter the building, as it provokes the people.

KFOR and EULEX vehicles are positioned on the streets of Leposavic.
