The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said after the meeting with the Special EU Envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak that after what had happened today in Brussels, it was clear that Pristina did not want to do anything to de-escalate the situation, which was why he could not be optimistic.

Separate talks between Lajcak and the heads of the negotiating teams of Serbia and Kosovo were held in Brussels today, but the tripartite meeting did not take place.

"I spoke with Lajcak about everything that happened today. I am not optimistic; there is no reason to be. As I said, Pristina does not want to do anything in any serious way to de-escalate the conflict, which leaves countless problems in the future, and it is increasingly becoming a security problem, not a political one," President Vucic told reporters in Brussels.

That is why, he says, he wanted to talk to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and when asked if he would talk to him about the "last chance" to overcome the crisis, he answered:

"It's better not to talk about the last chances... And, whether the situation is increasingly tense and difficult - there is no doubt about that," Vucic said.
