Vucic: CSM formation the only undertaken EU-signed international obligation
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today in Bujanovac that regarding the plan for Kosovo, it was important to fulfill all previous agreements signed by the EU and stressed that the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities was the only undertaken international commitment from ten years ago, envisaged by four documents, RTV reports.
When asked by a journalist that there seemed to be not much progress within the Brussels negotiations because Kurti had said that the CSM could hardly be formed since the Kosovo constitution does not allow it and that it was unlikely that he would accept the proposal of France and Germany, and whether he saw a solution in the exchange of territories or demarcation, Vucic said:
"When I was trying to resolve something, you all jumped on my back. It is important that the previous agreements are fulfilled. You ask if I will fulfill something that I did not sign; well, that which was signed and what is an international obligation should be fulfilled, and the only international obligation from 10 years ago is the CSM and four documents related to the CSM," he stated, as reported by Tanjug.
Vucic said it was not up to Albin Kurti whether he would fulfill an international obligation but that it was also a matter of the EU and all the signatories.
"In 2015, I signed the principles that speak about it; I signed 22 principles, and before that, Dacic had signed, as had Thaci and Mustafa, depending on the agreement. In addition, there is always the signature of the EU. Shouldn't that be fulfilled then? He says it is hardly possible, and if it is so – I understood that," Vucic emphasized.
