Vucic: From the day after tomorrow, Kurti will officially be the Gauleiter of the occupation
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that no one could force the Serbs to love an independent Kosovo and that the Serbs still loved the only country they had, and that one common country for all was called Serbia.
Commenting on the decision of the president of the Party of Kosovo Serbs, Aleksandar Jablanovic, to withdraw his candidacy for mayor of Leposavic, the Serbian president said that it had been a smart move.
"As for Jablanovic and their decision – it is smart. Not more than 100 of them will participate tomorrow. They think they can make the Serbs love independent Kosovo by force, by paying some media, non-governmental organizations. No, they united like-minded Serbs. From the day after tomorrow, Albin Kurti will officially be the Gauleiter of the occupation and everyone knows it, and it is good for these people in the West to hear and see it, so it is a good decision by Jablanovic. The Serbs will continue to love the only country that they have, and that only common country for all of us is called Serbia," Vucic said, answering questions from journalists after laying the foundation stone for the construction of the new sports and recreation center "Radnicki" in Belgrade.
The president also said that he expected to receive praise from some Europeans for the elections in the north of Kosovo.
"It is important to me that they will praise the elections in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, in which one percent will turn out, and that they will say that these are the highest values," Vucic said.
Asked about the statement of American Ambassador, Christopher Hill, that there were no conditions for holding elections in the north of Kosovo, Vucic said that "Hill is a serious man, an intellectual and he understands the situation".
"We don't always agree with positions, they with ours, and we with theirs, but he has a wider understanding than many. He can understand how things stand," Vucic said.
He added that "Concerning the Quint, I have said everything I think."
"Let them sulk as they want, just like these experts who wrote the European Parliament report. They will explain to us that there is no democracy here, but that there is where one percent participate in the elections. But, they help us with Golubac, Fetislav; these are great things that we work with the EU... You hear those political speeches, you say "yes, yes", "we will listen" and then you say goodbye,” Vucic says.
Asked about the European Parliament's report on Serbia, Vucic says that he has not seen it, but that there are critical messages every time.
"Most of them will be for not imposing sanctions on Russia," Vucic says.
Vucic, answering the questions of journalists, commented on the opposition and their position on Kosovo, pointing out that they had to come to an agreement on their own first.
"Let them agree, I'm ready for anything. They want a referendum, let's go to a referendum. They want to go to the assembly, it's not a problem. Just don't let them create violence, everything else, whenever it is possible," Vucic said.
