Vucic: Serbia does not, nor it will export weapons and ammunition to Ukraine
Serbia had not and would not export weapons or ammunition to Ukraine, President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today in response to Reuters news that Serbia was exporting weapons to Ukraine.
"This is not about weapons, but about ammunition, but there is no paper that would show something like that. Serbia has not and will not export weapons and ammunition to Ukraine and whether they will appear on one or the other side of the battlefield is quite certain, because we sell ammunition to authorized end users, not to Ukraine or Russia," Vucic told reporters in Raska.
He pointed out that Serbia was very careful about this, adding that he had not reacted to such allegations because he had spoken about it more than ten times so far.
"That wretched, vicious, corrupt approach of certain politicians and their media branches is so pathetic, with the sole aim of destroying Serbia's position, and nothing more," Vucic said.
As he noted, those who were for Ukraine and for the West wanted to spoil relations with Putin, and those others suddenly trusted the most even false American sources.
"What is the other option, not to export and let our factories fail? Do you want to go to Lucani, Cacak, to explain to the people why they don't have salaries? The military industry has work to do now, and we won't sell? We will wait for peace in the world, for our factories to fail... And where will weapons appear, but on some training ground or in one of the war zones in the world? You don't buy ammunition to put heels on a shoe. This is used in wars," Vucic said.
He added that he understood the goal of an attack on a dedicated industry, like the one in the case of Krusik, and that harms his own country.
"We will invest in factories and export wherever the end user is allowed, and we have conditioned them as well. But when they become the owners, they can send it wherever they want," Vucic said.
