The situation is very tense; they will attempt to hold constitutive sessions tomorrow for three municipalities in the building of the North Mitrovica municipality and elect fake mayors supported by the Quint in the most miserable elections, with an average turnout of 3.4 percent, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today.

Vucic said that he had had a conference call yesterday with US State Department Counselor Derek Chollet, US Special Envoy Gabriel Escobar, and Ambassador Christopher Hill.

"The situation is very difficult and tense, especially in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. The only thing I ask of the Serbs is to maintain peace because these individuals will never be accepted as mayors. This is an abuse of the Serbian people and an attempt to create an atmosphere in which they will be forced to leave their homes," Vucic said.

When asked to comment on the people who have started walking from Kosovo to Belgrade and the rally scheduled for May 26, the president publicly thanked them.

"I thank them for their attention and respect. It was not difficult for these people to set out on foot. They know the real situation, how difficult it is, and how the state leadership has fought. My message to them is that we will fight together to ensure the survival of our people in Kosovo and Metohija and to preserve our Constitution. As for my concerns about what will happen tomorrow, it's better that I don't tell you," Vucic stated.
