Vucic with US senators: The solution for the CSM is exclusively based on the Brussels Agreement
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, met today with US Senators Chris Murphy and Gary Peters, and during the conversation, he pointed out that the priority for Belgrade is the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, as stipulated in the Brussels Agreement.
Vucic stated on his Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav" that he had had an open conversation with the US senators and that he thanked them for their involvement in supporting the dialogue with Pristina.
"I pointed out that the priority is the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, as well as that we will continue to insist on the exclusive application of the decision on the CSM as provided for in the Brussels Agreement," the president emphasized.
He adds that they also discussed numerous other issues of interest to the two countries and that he reiterated Serbia's determination to continue developing relations with the US based on mutual respect and understanding.
As stated in the press release of the Service for Cooperation with the Media, Vucic particularly emphasized that Belgrade had shown seriousness and responsibility in the dialogue process from the beginning, despite constant provocations and numerous unilateral moves by Pristina, which obstruct the finding of a compromise and sustainable solution.
Speaking about the current geopolitical and security situation in the world, Vucic reiterated that Serbia remains committed to a consistent policy of safeguarding national and state interests as well as respecting the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty of states.
"Vucic added that it is of key interest for Serbia to preserve stability in the region, a positive agenda, and to strengthen regional cooperation in all areas, especially in the area of the economy, whereby Serbia, through initiatives such as the "Open Balkan", consistently and persistently promotes a policy aimed at the future, focusing on mutually beneficial cooperation," the statement added.
