President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated tonight that there was no progress in the discussions between international representatives and Pristina regarding the ban on the dinar, emphasizing that the Serbs in Kosovo were in a very difficult situation.

"It is crucial for us to ensure security and peace and to help the people in Kosovo and Metohija, who are in an extremely difficult situation. We have received information that there is no progress in the discussions between international representatives and Pristina. We will seek a solution until the last moment," Vucic said after the session of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party.

He added that discussions had been held about the Movement for the People and the State and that the highest party body had agreed to initiate the establishment of the movement.

"This Movement is not about elections, it's not ad hoc for one more or less parliamentary seat or one position in the government, but to help the country in the most difficult conditions. The hardest times are ahead for Serbia, not economically but geopolitically," Vucic said.

Due to the difficult global situation, Vucic stated that the new government should be formed as soon as possible.

Commenting on the statement by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during her visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina that changing borders was poison for humanity, Vucic said he fully agreed.

"Why were they pouring poison on us in 1999?" Vucic asked.

He emphasized that he had not received an answer to that question.

"They probably think that back then it was medicine, and today it's poison. But poison is always poison. You need an antidote for poison," he stressed.

Vucic says that Baerbock is very important, and unlike others who think she is not smart, he believes she is very intelligent.

"We have to understand that we are in a world where they don't want to listen to us. Precisely because of 1999. March 24th is ahead of us, which we commemorate since I became prime minister, as aggression on a sovereign country, not as the anniversary of an intervention or a campaign," he underscored.

Vucic emphasized that despite the fact that emotions would flare up, and despite remembering the victims and the fact that they had been pouring that poison on Serbia, seizing territories of a sovereign country, they must look to the future.

"That doesn't mean we're giving up our national interests. We must look at how to protect our country, and how to talk to the West. That's why it's important to focus on Expo, to form the government and parliament as soon as possible," he said.

The leader of the Serbian Progressive Party, Milos Vucevic, said that the important topic of the Presidency meeting had been the situation in Kosovo, especially the position of the Serbs.

"The President of Serbia informed the party about the activities the state is undertaking at the political and diplomatic levels to primarily preserve the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," he said.
