Vuletic: It is not realistic to expect a "final solution" to the dialogue in the coming months
Sociologist Vladimir Vuletic assesses that it is entirely unrealistic to expect any progress in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina in the coming months, especially hoping for a final solution to the issue.
Vuletic emphasizes for Kosovo Online that the key conclusion is that there is no talk of a "final solution" in the next few months.
"No progress has been happening for a long time; we are talking about decades, and it is difficult to expect that certain things or problems will be solved in a few months just because it is someone's day-to-day political interest. That is not realistic. Talking about a final solution in the next few months is actually unrealistic," Vuletic says, adding that it is far more realistic to expect that, when the dialogue process resumes, there will be no new interruptions or situations like those of the past 12 months.
As he notes, it is important to avoid incidents that could escalate into conflicts, even broader conflicts.
"What is realistic to expect is that when the dialogue process resumes, there will be no interruptions in the dialogue, so that we do not find ourselves in a situation like the one we had in the previous 12 months, which was on the verge of some incidents that could escalate into conflicts, perhaps even broader conflicts," Vuletic states.
