The head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, said that during talks with foreign diplomats, he realized that in 2022 alone, more than 49,000 citizens of Kosovo received work visas and moved out of Kosovo to some of the European countries.

In a post on Facebook, Abdixhiku states that 134 people leave Kosovo daily, which on a weekly basis represents a figure of 1,000 people who leave Kosovo.

"Our people, your neighbors, doctors, teachers, artisans – everyone you share your day with – are leaving. Our cities are emptying, our villages are disappearing, and public services are left without workers and professionals. Kosovo is simply emptying, and we can't go on like this anymore," Abdixhiku noted.

Abdixhiku believes that Kosovo should not be closed to the Euro-Atlantic path.

"We cannot continue with the populism of the rulers and their depressing statements that end only in ridicule. Reject this mentality. Kosovo does not owe such people! Our country cannot be closed on the Euro-Atlantic road, our historical aspiration. Our country does not dare to clash with allies now that it needs support on this path. Our country should not be a hostage to the past. The past no longer changes us, the future does not happen to us," he pointed out.

The LDK President emphasizes that the conditions that Europe has must be ensured in Kosovo so that emigration is reduced.

"Kosovo deserves better, Kosovo can do more," Abdixhiku wrote.
