Berisha: Kurti and his government - Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves
Representative of the Democratic Party of Kosovo Hysen Berisha, today during the extraordinary session of the Assembly of Kosovo, criticized Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his Government for "bad management and theft of the budget of Kosovo" and pointed out that "the current Government should be stopped because the people can't stand it anymore", Reporteri reports.
He pointed out that the people around Kurti had made an effort to cover up all his malfeasance and had made him look like an "angel".
"Dear Prime Minister, those who surround you and take care of your wrong propaganda and image, made you look like an angel. But, in a short time in power, the devil himself came to us," Berisha said.
He says that it is true that there was corruption in other governments, but that, as he claims, there was never so much abuse of public money.
"There was corruption in other governments as well, but it was mainly to the detriment of business entities, because for example five million euros were allocated from the budget for a project, and it was obtained with 4.5 million! Then it happens that the supervisors of some official extort five to ten percent, to force the economic operator to finish the project with four million, which was mostly to the detriment of the economic operator, but not to the detriment of the budget or the project," Berisha said.
Considering how much they damaged the budget, he called Kurti and his Government "Ali Baba and Forty Thieves" and pointed to the embezzlement of money when canceling textbooks for children.
"Do you think you are so sophisticated that the opposition and the people do not understand? You and your cub, Minister Nagavci, canceled the tender with an offer of 4.8 million because a company connected to you did not participate in the tender," Berisha said.
He also recalled the scandal with the abuse of Kosovo's reserves, as well as the "theft of wheat, oil, and sugar, as well as electricity".
"At the time when you bought wheat on the stock exchange, it was 275 euros per ton, you bought it from your real estate agent 'Ridi' at 483 euros per ton. As for the liter of oil, you tried to convince the citizens that you had contracted for a liter of oil for 1.1 euros, and supposedly a liter of oil in Kosovo cost close to 3.39 euros! But what does it matter how many euros the contract costs if the oil has not arrived at all," the PDK representative said.
As he further says, the Government stole electricity from citizens and stopped the licensed operator "Hydropower" where the electricity was for 63 euros per megawatt for the entire time electricity was imported and bought it for 288 euros per megawatt.
"Even from this corrupt affair, 40 or 50 million per day went into your pocket and the pocket of your diplomat. You stole over 50 million in contracts from one source, and probably hundreds of millions in the name of subsidies, grants, and transfers," Berisha said.
He says that the current Government should be stopped because, as he points out, the people can't stand it anymore.
