Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the UK Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach, to discuss the improvement of bilateral political and economic relations with that country, as well as the current situation in Kosovo and the region.

As stated in the Government of Serbia's press release, Brnabic expressed great concern about the current situation in Kosovo, particularly the fact that institutions in Pristina were preventing the upcoming elections for members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on the territory of Kosovo.

"The Prime Minister emphasized that Belgrade had shown a clear commitment to dialogue and achieving stability, stating that Belgrade would firmly continue to insist on the implementation of the agreements reached by the Brussels Agreement", the statement said.

She expressed particular interest in enhancing bilateral relations in several key areas, expressing satisfaction with the recently signed Declaration on Enhancing Cooperation in the Fight against Organized Crime between the Republic of Serbia and the United Kingdom.

Pointing to various initiatives in which Serbia participates, Brnabic emphasized the commitment to regional cooperation, which was one of the foreign policy priorities contributing to the economic prosperity and development of the entire region.

Stuart Peach emphasized the commitment of the United Kingdom to continue strengthening cooperation between the two countries, primarily in the fields of economy, environmental protection, and energy, and within the framework of joint project collaboration.

The meeting also discussed the opening of the Creative Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in London, representing a unique contribution to the promotion of creative industries and innovation of Serbia and its citizens in Great Britain.
