Serbian Ambassador to the US Marko Djuric spoke today on Capitol Hill with Congressman Thomas Kean, who chairs the Subcommittee on Europe in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives.

Djuric informed Congressman Kean about the recently held round of dialogue in Brussels and underlined that President Aleksandar Vucic had been explicit about Serbia's position, the protection of its national interests, but also Belgrade's openness to discussing how to implement the agreement.

He repeated the official Belgrade's concern regarding Pristina's multi-year non-fulfillment of its obligations, saying that such actions undermined the atmosphere of dialogue and were not a sign of a serious approach or respect for the negotiation process itself.

Among the issues on the bilateral agenda, Ambassador Djuric pointed out the importance of starting talks on the strategic partnership between Serbia and the US, with the main emphasis on the sphere of economic, cultural, and defense cooperation.

Djuric and Kean, as stated in the announcement of the Embassy of Serbia in the US, exchanged opinions on current energy and security issues, as well as on the current situation in Eastern Europe, agreeing on the necessity of ending the conflict as soon as possible and achieving peace.
