Richard Grenell, the former U.S. Special Envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, has voiced his agreement with the stance of Efraim Zuroff, the director of the "Simon Wiesenthal" Institute, regarding the Srebrenica resolution.
He stated that not every war crime was an act of genocide. On the social media platform "X," Grenell commented that Germany is pushing a UN resolution to label the 1995 Srebrenica massacre as genocide to diminish the actions of the German government in 1941.
"Not all war crimes should be labeled genocides. Pushing some other war crimes into the Genocide label weakens what the then German government did in 1941. Keep politics away from this sensitive, but important labeling," Grenell advised.
