Haradinaj: I wanted serious cooperation with the Serb List, but they did not accept the Kosovo Army

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said that, while he had been Prime Minister, he had tried to establish serious cooperation with the Serb List, but that the representatives of the Serbs had not agreed to the Kosovo Army, which could come to the north, Gazeta Express reported.

Haradinaj also told T7 that he had not met the Vice-President of the Serb List, Milan Radoicic, at his house in the north, but at the headquarters of the Serb List, in order to "keep them close".

As he stated, he had tried to "seriously cooperate with the Serb List" in order to achieve the main goal - the extension of Pristina's sovereignty to the north, but the Serb List had not agreed to that, nor to the creation of the Kosovo Army.

He added that the Serb List had requested that the Law on the Army include points according to which those forces did not have the right to go to the north, but as it was impossible for the law to provide for that, the Serb List had not accepted it.

"I have visited the north many times. I did not meet Radoicic at his house but at the headquarters of the Serb List. I tried to cooperate with them as seriously as possible. The goal is known - the extension of full jurisdiction to the north. We would certainly have some success. But, unfortunately, the Serb List could not face the creation of an army. I tried to keep them close. I was not alone, I also worked with allies to ensure that the Serb List remains a part of the institutions. We had the first generations of the Kosovo Serb soldiers. But when I sent the laws to parliament, they said that it should be stipulated that we could not send it to the north. The law does not specify that. And they said it was unacceptable," Haradinaj said.
