Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the European Union's punitive measures against Kosovo should be withdrawn as soon as possible, stating that Kosovo had been "creative", with ideas and committed to the dialogue that had resulted in the basic agreement and that the obstructions of the agreement did not come from Pristina, Teve 1 reports.

"So, on February 27 in Brussels, we reached an agreement, there are six sentences in the preamble, 11 articles, which is a de facto mutual recognition. In the Ohrid Agreement of March 18, we attached a 12-point implementation annex. However, this was violated by the official Belgrade, the President there, and we told him to implement it completely without conditions and as soon as possible. Therefore, the obstructions of the agreement that we have are not coming from Pristina," Kurti said in an interview with TV Koha from Tetovo.

That is why he believes that it is neither logical nor rational to insist on measures against Kosovo.

"We have to accept that the de-escalation in the north of Kosovo has already taken place to a considerable extent. We have twice reduced the presence of our police in buildings in three northern municipalities by 25 percent and we have expressed our readiness to hold early elections," Kurti said.

According to him, the approach to Kosovo should be improved, and it should be tightened towards Serbia.

In this regard, he states that the letter signed by more than 50 parliamentarians from several countries, addressed to the USA, Great Britain, and the EU, is "a step in the right direction".

He also stated that Serbia was aggressive and did not distance itself either from the former President of the FR Yugoslavia, Slobodan Milosevic or from the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
