Muhaxhiri: Kurti has strong popularity in the diaspora, it is clear why he initiated the adoption of the Law on Citizenship

Analyst Artan Muhaxhiri told Kosovo Online that everyone knows why Albin Kurti initiated the adoption of the Law on Citizenship, which envisages significant facilitation for the diaspora, but he emphasized that there are many other aspects related to this issue, as the question of the diaspora is highly emotional for Kosovo.

“The issue of the diaspora is very complex and emotional for Kosovo, both historically and economically. But for Kurti it is also a political issue, because he has great popularity in the diaspora and wins an absolute majority of diaspora votes,” Muhaxhiri said.

He added that this is why the issue is very complex and depends on how it is viewed.

“You can look at it from a demographic perspective, but for the current government it is also a political issue, because it is unlikely that young people from the diaspora who live in Germany or Switzerland will return here to live, as the level of social development is not comparable. What should be done is to create appropriate conditions for investors from the diaspora to come to Kosovo, because that is what Kosovo needs,” the analyst emphasized.
