Orlic with Cravinho: Serbs in Kosovo are experiencing terror

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Vladimir Orlic, met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Portugal, Joao Gomes Cravinho, with whom he discussed, among other things, the situation in the north of Kosovo.

As stated on the official website of the Assembly, Orlic said during the meeting that Serbs in Kosovo were experiencing terror, and added that in the last two decades, 10,000 physical attacks against Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church had been recorded.

"Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija experience real terror, they are threatened with draconian punishments, they are arrested without any reason or evidence, they are mistreated and beaten. In the last two decades, almost 10,000 physical attacks on Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church were recorded. People are living through everything that is unimaginable to happen in Europe today, and they no longer want to put up with violence and lies. In the last ten years that we have been waiting for the formation of the CSM, we have fulfilled every obligation from the Brussels Agreement. It is important for us that our friends in the world know that only one side is trying to preserve peace - Belgrade, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, and no one else," Orlic said.

He also warned about Pristina's announcement to apply for membership in international organizations and expressed strong opposition to such intentions.

"Supporting or even keeping silent about such moves means rewarding the one who destroys peace and tramples on all agreements and norms," Orlic added.

During the meeting, the good and friendly bilateral relations between Serbia and Portugal were confirmed and it was assessed that the potential for cooperation exists in numerous areas of mutual interest, primarily when it comes to economy and energy.

Also, the interlocutor expressed satisfaction with the tradition and continuity of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which this year marks 140 years since its establishment.
