As part of his official visit to Georgia, the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Vladimir Orlic, met with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, who said that the country's position on Kosovo would not change.

As reported by the Serbian Parliament, Orlic, who is on an official visit to Georgia at the invitation of Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, spoke with Prime Minister Garibashvili about bilateral relations between the two countries, strengthening overall cooperation, and European integration.

Speaking of the two countries' European integration, the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament said that Serbia had made progress in practically all areas under the rule of law, and he particularly emphasized the adoption of a set of new judicial laws, which completed the reform in this area that began with the amendment of the Constitution last year. However, as he added, the issue of the Republic of Serbia's European integration remains heavily burdened by the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

"We are faced with the unilateral moves of Pristina every day, as well as Albin Kurti's brazen refusal to form the CSM after a decade of waiting. We demand that the signed agreements be implemented without delay and that security be ensured for our people in Kosovo and Metohija because these are elementary prerequisites for further dialogue," Orlic said.

He added that the EU and US officials openly announced today their appreciation for Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's serious and responsible approach to dialogue.

The Prime Minister of Georgia pointed out that the two countries shared the same views and jointly represented and respected international public law.

"Our position regarding the so-called "Kosovo" is known and will not change. We strongly support Serbia in this regard," Garibashvili said.

The meeting was also attended by the Vice President of the National Assembly and the President of the Committee for European Integration, Elvira Kovacs, and the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Georgia Dubravka Filipovski.
