Orlic: Kurti's advocacy of "Greater Albania" threatens to lead the entire Balkans into misfortune and suffering
The President of the National Assembly, Vladimir Orlic, said that Serbia wanted to cooperate with everyone, preserving peace and stability, which were the vital interests of the Serbs, pointing out that this was always threatened by others, and cited the example of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who "in the territory of North Macedonia advocates a 'Greater Albania', threatening to lead the entire Balkans into misfortune and suffering".
Orlic said this during a meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vranjes, to whom he conveyed that the whole of Serbia stood behind the words of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic when it came to respecting the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska within it.
"We fully respect the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Republika Srpska within it, because we respect both entities and all three peoples. We expect identical respect when it comes to the territorial integrity of Serbia, which was absent during the vote in the Council of Europe. We want to cooperate with everyone, preserving peace and stability, which are the vital interests of the Serbs wherever they live. This is always threatened by others: we saw in the last example of Albin Kurti, who is advocating a 'Greater Albania' on the territory of North Macedonia, threatening to lead the entire Balkans into misfortune and suffering. The international community must not be silent on that," Orlic said, as stated in the announcement.
Ambassador Vranjes briefed President Orlic on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with special reference to the indictment against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, assessing that "the indictment is an example of tyranny, suspension of rights, logic, and principles of democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina".
He also emphasized that the indictment against the legitimately elected representative of the Serbs, brought without grounds, collapsed the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, Orlic said that Serbia considered compliance with the Dayton Agreement to be of the greatest importance and that, accordingly, Serbia considered any violation of the Dayton principles and the constitutional arrangement of Bosnia and Herzegovina which is based on it, wrong and harmful.
"The consensus of the two entities and the three constituent peoples is the only correct path, no imposition of will that comes from outside," Dr. Orlic said.
He added that Serbia wanted the best relations with all nations, and all people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"But we have clearly communicated that today Serbia is strongly with the Republika Srpska, with its people and the leadership that the people elected to preserve the Dayton principles, peace, and progress," the President of the National Assembly said.
During the meeting, the interlocutors jointly welcomed the numerous infrastructure projects that Serbia is implementing today in all municipalities in the Republika Srpska, as well as in several municipalities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and emphasized the importance of joint work on large projects such as highways, new hydroelectric plants, and the airport.
Orlic expressed his belief that during his service in Belgrade, Ambassador Vranjes would personally contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the additional intensification of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the announcement stated.
