Coordinator of the Department for Agriculture and Rural Development of the PDK Naim Ismajli said that Venera Qerkini, a President Vjosa Osmani’s cousin, was appointed to a high position in the Government, to manage the budget of EUR 68.9 million per year.

"Venera Qerkini, a President Vjosa Osmani’s cousin, has been appointed director of the Agency for Agricultural Development, an institution within the Ministry of Agriculture led by Minister Faton Peci, who together with Osmani was on the Guxo List. From this position, Qerkini will manage EUR 68.9 million, earmarked for grants and subsidies for all Kosovo farmers," Ismajli said on Facebook.

Ismaili pointed out that, although Osmani’s cousin did not even make it to the shortlist of independent experts of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, the Government appointed her to a high position.

"This persistent appointment of the president's cousin, despite the negative assessment of international experts, says a lot about the purpose of capturing even independent institutions, but also about the interest of President Vjosa Osmani and the current government to put at their family members’ disposal tens of millions of Euros belonging to the citizens of Kosovo," Ismaili said.
