The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, condemned the attack on Milan Jovanovic, who was shot on the Bistrica Bridge last night, and added that he had been shot by the Kosovo Police, but that they would, of course, deny it.

"We are talking about a family man who has three children and is a taxi driver. At that completely illegal checkpoint near the Bistrica Bridge, the Kosovo police stop and harass Serbs every day. We have repeatedly said that they have no right to be in the north of Kosovo because it is contrary to all agreements. However, Albin Kurti and Pristina do not care about it; they violate all agreements, and with additional provocations, they are trying to cause some inappropriate reaction of the Serbs to Kosovo because apparently tensions and crises are needed only in Pristina today because it is the only way to avoid the CSM," Petkovic said.

Petkovic reminds that over 300 incidents have been recorded since the moment Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti came to power and that 12 houses were robbed in the last month alone.

"You will see the reaction of the Kosovo police; they have two approaches: either to criminalize the Serbs or to deny the allegations," he added.

Petkovic asked why the police did not show the footage from the Bistrica Bridge.

"Last time I asked Xhelal Svecla to show the footage, he didn't want to do it," Petkovic said.

Petkovic points out that Serbian blood has been shed for the umpteenth time.

"Kurti does not want peace; he does not want to implement anything that was agreed upon. We are doing everything in our power to preserve peace and stability so that Serbs both north and south of the Ibar live in peace," Petkovic said.

Serb M.J. from Zvecan was wounded late last night by a firearm, near the Bistrica Bridge not far from that place. The shooting happened near the checkpoint of the Kosovo special police unit.
