Rrusta: Abolishing the dinar suppresses the rights of the Serbian community

The MP of the Social Democratic Party, Teuta Rrusta, assessed that the decision to abolish the dinar suppressed the rights of the Serbian community and that the government had deliberately imposed more focus on this issue than on the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.

Rrusta, speaking on Teve 1, stated that the decision of the Central Bank of Kosovo to ban the dinar represented a violation of the rights of the Serbian community and that from the beginning, it had been clear not only that it would have consequences for people's daily lives but also that it would be impossible to implement.

"Moreover, as a society, we fell into the government's trap to talk about the dinar. This government has raised a fuss using tactics that are not characteristic of a country that has been oppressed. Such a decision was not made for the benefit and establishment of cooperation with the Serbian community," Rrusta said, Gazeta Blic reports.

She assessed that for the citizens of Kosovo, as well as for allies, there was too much government propaganda.

"For the citizens of Kosovo, and I believe for our supporters as well, it is already too much to watch a game that is not being played at all. With great concern, we see how the Government of Kosovo has elevated the issue of the dinar into a much bigger problem than the issue of the agreement that will bring the Community. As the Social Democratic Party, we are concerned about the country where we play with internal, populist measures that produce sanctions," Rrusta said.
