Starovic: Chilling surge of sexual harassment targeting Serbian women in northern Kosovo; justice demands action
Following the testimony of one of the victims from North Mitrovica, who experienced sexual harassment on the streets of her own city, Serbia's Minister for European Integration, Nemanja Starovic, stated that justice demands immediate action.
"In North Kosovo, a Serbian woman and her daughter were stalked and taunted by Albanian extremists, adding to a chilling surge of sexual harassment targeting Serbs. Under Kurti’s regime, cloaked as "rule of law," the forced subjugation of the North fuels ethnic tensions, while the all-Albanian police stand idly by." Starovic stated on the social network X.
Justice demands action now, the minister emphasized.
One of the sexual harassment victims from North Mitrovica told Kosovo Online that she is still deeply shaken by what happened to her, adding that she will most likely seek professional help, especially since just days after her experience, her daughter also became a victim of sexual harassment.
The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, described the disturbing situation she found herself in, admitting that she felt intense fear and helplessness to defend herself.
