Tahiri: Self-Determination has turned into a large-scale criminal organization
The head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Abelard Tahiri, assessed that the drug trade carried out by people from Albin Kurti's Government was another episode of the corrupt and smuggling mentality of the Kosovo Government and said that the Self-Determination Movement had turned into a large-scale criminal organization that operates outside of Kosovo.
In a post on Facebook, Tahiri reacted to the news that the police in Albania had arrested a member of the Self-Determination Movement and a member of that party's councilor in the Pristina Assembly, Besnik Mujeci, on suspicion of trafficking and selling narcotics in Albania. Photos of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Minister of Police Xhelal Svecla with the arrested Mujeci also appeared on social networks.
"Every day it is more and more clear that the Self-Determination Movement has turned into a criminal organization that operates pan-Albanian and outside of Kosovo and which is where various criminals, abusers, drug smugglers, and even murderers and those who want the liquidation of their political opponents reside" Tahiri said.
According to Tahiri, the officials of Self-Determination stole hundreds and tens of millions of euros from the citizens of Kosovo through some scandals, addressing them with "hello, gang".
"Self-Determination officials steal from every meter of asphalt laid, steal from cultural heritage... We didn't think about it, but now they have started a business of drug trafficking across the border. Who knows how many tons of drugs worth millions of euros were sent to Albania and other countries, before the councilor of Self-Determination was arrested, as one of the protagonists of the drug trade," Tahiri wrote.
He added that the current Government in Kosovo enabled crime, corruption, and theft.
"This event is a national alarm about who is ruling us today. How can we trust the government that, instead of fighting organized crime, enables crime, corruption, theft, and even drug trafficking? How can they stay in their positions, call for order, law, and security, while the members of their party are in charge of the most terrible jobs that Kosovo and perhaps the region has ever seen," Tahiri wrote.
