The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, pointed out that since Ukraine could not win a military war, he expected that Kyiv would gain great momentum on its European path.

When Vucic was a guest on the "Novo Vikend Jutro" show on TV Pink, he was asked about the statement of the ORF correspondent from the Western Balkans and Ukraine, Kristijan Versic, he said for Kosovo Online, that he had learned from the President of Serbia that the war in Ukraine would start, and said that it was no secret.

He pointed out that in the media archive it could be seen that when he had been in Sochi with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, after November 25, 2021, he said that he had expected that a lot of difficult things were being prepared in the world and what the fate would be.

"Not because Putin told me anything; I understood what was going to happen in Ukraine. He didn't tell me that. Always, when we met, he would speak for 40 minutes about Ukraine. That time he didn't even speak for three minutes about Ukraine. Then I understood that a decision was made. I could not speak so openly, but I said unequivocally that such a decision could be expected," he explained.

He pointed out that he had been only listening and arranging the facts.

Regarding the following period, he says, already in June there must be a big momentum in Ukraine's European path because it cannot win the conflict militarily.

"I think that decisions will be made on the urgent start of negotiations, regarding the order of entry into the EU. Then comes the competition who will be the head of NATO, and the US is creating a block within Europe that is not small - Poland, the Baltic countries, and Ukraine. And when you create that block, you will have countries that are larger than France in terms of population, and if you add Romania, it is clear that it becomes a sextet of the most powerful and strongest in Europe, which are under the direct influence of the US," Vucic explained.

He pointed out that there would be a change in the political map in Europe itself, and that Serbia would follow it closely.

"We want to position ourselves as a Central European country, and that is why we have closer relations with Hungary," he added.

He said that he wanted to hope that this development would be in a positive light, but that the limiting factors for Serbia were the sanctions against Russia and Kosovo.

"I think a lot more will happen in the meantime. The Biden administration's deflationary act aims to force many European companies to relocate to the US. Now, they will agree with Europe that this does not apply to European countries. First, they will take big companies from them, and in the future, European countries will have to implement measures against China as the US implements," he explained.

He pointed out that there had been a visible change towards China at the session of the European Council.

"For the first time, the sentence China is a strategic rival, the term US, was confirmed. In all of this, we have to look at ourselves and how we will position ourselves," Vucic said.

He stated that by March 20, Serbia had attracted 693 million euros of foreign investments, which was the best result so far.

He emphasized that he did not misunderstand the attacks by the opposition.

"The opposition wants to reduce the Serbian Progressive Party from 45 percent to about 30 percent. That's why they let the right-wing people, thinking that our votes will go to them; that they would take our votes; that they would not have a majority, and that they would be able to blackmail us. Then Serbia would lose independence in decision-making," Vucic said.

He also stated that the opposition did not have a policy.
