Vucic with Li Ming: China is an example of a principled state with wise policy
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met today with the Ambassador of China, Li Ming, ahead of his visit to that country, and stated that during the conversation he particularly emphasized that it is of exceptional importance for Serbia to build strong partnerships with friendly states that respect Serbia’s independence, development, and the right to its own path in times of profound global changes, when the world is facing economic pressures, security challenges, and increasing uncertainty.
“I emphasized that I am especially looking forward to meeting President Xi Jinping again, to whom I am endlessly grateful for the great honor and privilege of being his guest once again, as well as for everything he has done for Serbia and our people. I pointed out that the support and friendship he has shown toward our country remain a lasting testimony to the steel-like ties between Serbia and China, as well as to the deep mutual trust that is woven into our people’s respect for the great Chinese people, and which will remain a strong foundation for generations to come,” Vucic wrote on his Instagram account “buducnostsrbijeav”.
Everything we have built together, he added, from infrastructure and industrial projects to political understanding and support in the most important moments, represents proof of sincere friendship that has stood the test of time and major global challenges.
“We also discussed the meetings I will have during my stay in China, as well as visits to industrial and economic giants, which is of immeasurable importance for us, considering that China today is a model of a strong and stable economy, but also an example of a principled state which, through its consistent positions, wise policy, and great international reputation, is making serious efforts to ensure that peace, stability, and cooperation prevail in the world, which humanity needs more than ever today,” the Serbian president said.
Precisely for that reason, he stated, he feels a great responsibility ahead of his visit to the PR China, because Serbia looks with admiration at China’s development model and continues to build relations based on trust, mutual respect, and a shared vision of the future.
