Vucic spoke with Chollet: Serbia is committed to peace and stability
The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, spoke by phone today with the special adviser at the US State Department, Derek Chollet, who conveyed the views of official Washington that tomorrow's meeting in Brussels was expected to bring progress in the dialogue.
As announced by the Media Cooperation Service of the President of the Republic, Chollet pointed out during the conversation with Vucic that the US fully supported the EU proposal on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and that he expected tomorrow's meeting in Brussels to be constructive, with noticeable progress towards an agreement.
"Chollet also said that the agreements, previously signed in the dialogue process, should be implemented, which also implied the establishment of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities," the announcement states.
It is added that Vucic emphasized that he expected a very difficult meeting, but that Serbia was committed to peace and stability in the region, and that in that context he was ready to work on the concept and implementation of the proposed plan with clearly defined limitations.
"Vucic and Chollet also discussed the European future of Serbia, which the US supports, as well as the significant opportunities for the development of Serbian-American cooperation in various fields, especially the economic one," the statement emphasized.
