Family and friends welcomed Stefan with tears and hugs: We are grateful to God that he is alive and at home
Stefan Stojanovic, an 11-year-old boy who was wounded on Christmas Eve not far from Srepce, was discharged today from the hospital in Gracanica for home treatment, and his friends from school and the neighborhood welcomed him with chants and hugs.
Bosiljka Stojanovic, Stefan's grandmother, thanked everyone for their help and said through tears that she was grateful to God that her grandson was alive.
"We are grateful to God that the child remained alive and to all the good people who visited us and helped and supported us. We are grateful that he is alive and that he came home," Bosiljka said.
Teodora Ljubisavljevic, Stefan's sister, said that Stefan had brought a smile back to their faces when upon his return.
"My family, I, as well as all those closest to us, were very scared and in shock because of everything that happened. Maybe we didn't even give adequate statements, because not a single picture or word can explain our feelings, how sad and shaken we were. Today, emotions are mixed from happiness to sadness, but we are grateful that Stefan is alive and well, and that he returned home. He brought a smile back to our faces, even though we are still in shock because of the whole situation, because we didn't celebrate the happiest holiday properly", Teodora said.
Milos Stojanovic was also wounded in the hand on Christmas Eve, and was released for home treatment a few days ago. As Milos said, he had a medical check-up in Gracanica.
"Thank God, the injury is fine, the arm is fine. Today, Stefan also left the hospital. I hope that we will recover as soon as possible and return to normal life," Milos said.
