Organized trip of displaced Serbs from Kosovo to All Souls' Day canceled due to poor security situation

Due to the poor security situation, the organized trip of displaced Serbs from Kosovo to All Souls' Day on Saturday has been canceled, as reported by Telegraf.

The President of the Interim Authority of Djakovica, Milenko Jovanovic, stated that Serbs displaced from the Metohija region would not be leaving for cemeteries on Saturday to pay their respects to the deceased by lighting candles.

"After the Banjska incident and an extremely complex situation, particularly due to the fear of possible arrests of individuals whose names appear on some lists, displaced Serbs have decided not to go to cemeteries in Klina, Djakovica, Pec, Istok, and Decani for this year's All Souls' Day," Jovanovic said.

The displaced Serbs' desire to light candles for the deceased on mostly damaged cemeteries in these municipalities is big, but constant arrests and beatings discourage them from returning to their hometowns.

It has also been announced that there will be no organized arrival of displaced Serbs from Pristina and Kosovo Polje, as well as in Suva Reka, Urosevac, Prizren, Vucitrn, and a dozen other places in Kosovo.

Organized by the Interim Authority of Kosovska Mitrovica, Serbs will pay their respects to the deceased at the cemetery in the southern part of the city.
