The metal fence with barbed wire that was placed around the municipal building in Zvecan was partially removed from the side entrance to this building, on the side where the "Vuk Karadzic" Elementary School is located.

As reported by the Kosovo Online reporter, the partial removal of the fence was a facilitating circumstance for the residents of Zvecan who lived in residential buildings located right next to the municipal building, because now they could move more easily and enter and leave their homes.

More than a month has passed since KFOR soldiers set up barricades in the form of metal fences and barbed wire around the municipal building, and after the Serbs started peaceful protests on May 29 due to the incursion of Kosovo Special Forces and the imposition of illegitimate Albanian mayors, elected in elections in which the turnout was around 3.5 percent and which the Serbs boycotted.

The Zvecan municipal building is secured by the Turkish contingent of KFOR, which recently arrived in the north of Kosovo, in accordance with NATO's decision to increase its presence after the outbreak of the crisis.

Peaceful protests by the Serbs in the north have entered their 34th day, and those gathered in front of the municipal buildings in Zvecan and Leposavic are determined not to give up their demands, among which is the release of the Serbs who were arrested in previous weeks, often with unnecessary and excessive use of force.

In the municipal building in Leposavic, there are still Kosovo Special Forces and the new mayor Lulzim Hetemi, who was elected in the elections on April 23 with only 100 votes. On the plateau in front of the building are soldiers of the Hungarian KFOR, which is separated from the protesting citizens by a metal fence and parked jeeps.
