Kurti: My country is called the Republic of Kosovo, not Kosovo and Metohija

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti is participating in the Western Balkans Investment Summit being held in London, where after the presentation of the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who used the term "Kosovo and Metohija," he stated that "his country is called the Republic of Kosovo, not Kosovo and Metohija," Telegrafi reports.

"The name of my country is the Republic of Kosovo, it is not as it was referred to here as Kosovo and Metohija. If I were to continue down the same path, it would take a lot of your time, because I would have to say instead of Serbia, Serbia and Vojvodina, Sandzak, Raska, and the Presevo Valley. It's better to focus on the economy," Kurti said.

Kurti stated that Kosovo was committed to order, law, and the fight against corruption in line with the United States, the European Union, and Great Britain.

"We are committed to order, law, and the fight against corruption in full alignment with the US, the EU, and Britain, both in political and economic values, especially after the Russian aggression in Ukraine," he said.

He noted that Kosovo had been recognized by 117 countries worldwide, three out of four neighboring countries, citing that Montenegro and North Macedonia recognized Kosovo, but Serbia still did not.

"We have no connection with the Russian Federation; we have imposed sanctions on Russia. We want Ukraine to win the war, and we need a democratic Europe and the world to see the defeat of the Kremlin and Putin. So, we have no cooperation with them, although they would like to," Kurti said.

Also on the panel with Kurti is the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, who has been praised several times for the economic development of Serbia.
