Miftaraj: Adoption of the Law on Pension Schemes is not the Government's success, it was forced by the Constitutional Court

The Executive Director of the Kosovo Law Institute, Ehat Miftaraj, reacted to the adoption of the Draft Law on amendments to the Law on Pension Schemes, stating that the Government was deceiving the citizens by presenting it as its own success and adding that the Constitutional Court had forced that law.

Miftaraj stated on Facebook that the Government should not deceive public opinion.

"The Government should not try to deceive public opinion. These are such blatant lies and deceptions. Don't insult our intelligence. Come on! This government has passed the pension scheme law without political will. The Constitutional Court has enforced it through its ruling. They have a constitutional and legal obligation to implement the Constitutional Court's decision," Miftaraj stated.

The new Law on Pension Systems stipulates that pensioners will have their period of service calculated from the cessation of work until January 1, 1999, until the fulfillment of the condition of 15 years.
