Uglanin: In the institutions of North Mitrovica, 99 percent of people are not from the north; Atiq does not think for himself

At today's session of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly, President Nexhat Uglanin made serious accusations against Mayor Erden Atiq, as well as Minister of Local Self-Government Elbert Krasniqi and Deputy Prime Minister Emilia Rexhepi, stating that “99 percent of people who are not from the North" were engaged in municipal institutions and which were politically imposed, Bota Sot reports.

Uglanin criticized Atiq for poor communication and stated that he "doesn't think for himself".

Uglanin also targeted representatives of the authorities in Pristina, Minister of Local Self-Government Elbert Krasniqi and Deputy Prime Minister Emilia Rexhepi, whom he accused of deliberately obstructing the work of municipal institutions by, as he stated, "placing their own people in leadership positions."

He pointed out that "as many as 99 percent of the people who work in municipal institutions are not from the north". He accused Krasniqi and Rexhepi, who was the Deputy Prime Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights, of appointing people who had no connection with North Mitrovica.

"I didn't accidentally mention the Minister of Local Self-Government, because he appointed a member of another municipality, that is, a member of the leading committee for communities in another municipality, as director of communities here. I didn't accidentally mention Deputy Prime Minister Emilia Rexhepi either. She appointed directors from Prizren and Dragash here; we don't have any director from the north, except for the Vice President; 99 percent of the employees are from the south, and all of that is politically imposed," Uglanin said.

He then made a series of accusations against the Mayor of the Municipality of North Mitrovica, Erden Atiq, who was sitting next to him.

He accused him of many things, from not accepting delegates and councilors to a lack of transparency towards citizens and the media.

After a verbal duel, both Uglanin and Atiq left the session of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly.
